It's a balmy -12C and snowing. A good day to stay home and knit by the fire.
My hibiscus decided to cheer me up with a new flower. You can see the snow out the window, behind.
The knitting continues. I finished a pair of fingerless mitts.
So, I started another pair.
I actually did some sewing, inspired by some scrap sorting I've been doing.
A simple zippered pouch, because I wanted to try a different method of inserting the zipper. It is called the Butler Method, and is used in designer Amy Butler's patterns. I'm not convinced that it is better than the method I already use, but it is good to try new things.
On a PA Day last week, my little buddy and I made muffins and practiced fractions.
Here they are on their way into the oven. He declared them delicious. They were raspberry almond, in case you were wondering.
The fire is lite, so I'm off to finish that mitt, and maybe cast on the second one.
Those muffins would be delicious! That's a pretty hibiscus - our neighbour's big orange one is flowering, I'll see if I can get a pic. Minus 12 sounds good to me, yesterday we reached 40.5 C....hottest day of the summer so far.....much too hot for me.
ReplyDeleteGreat mitts and a pretty bag. xx
ReplyDeleteA balmy -12degC? That sounds sooo cold. Last 2 weeks I experienced winter for the first time and it never went below 3 deg C. My bones rattled. My teeth couldn't stop chattering. I don't think my body can survive in negative deg C. I've not heard of the Butler method. Is it a thing to claim a sewing technique by putting your name? Lol. I'll go look it up. I love exploring different methods of inserting zipper and honestly I thought I know all the methods already. I too have my own method. Please check it out on my youtube Zipper Pouch No. 1. Lol. I'm sure you already know "my method". Oh, your knitting is making me want to knit again. I hope I remember how. Also I want to crochet too. So many things I want to do. Btw, Happy Year of the Snake.
