I have been working on my Alberta Shawl.
After 13 days of knitting at least a bit every day, I am at Row 90. One day, I knit 5 rows, 3 of them twice. With 289 stitches on my needle, I am lucky to get 4 rows done in a day, and it is definitely not mindless knitting. It may go to WWKIP, but only to show off.
The beads are adding a bit of colour to the piece. I think it might be time to add a life line.
I will be sock knitting at WWKIP.
The Penrose Toes now have heels as well as toes. Since I never knit toe up socks, I think the foot is going to be too long for my dainty little feet. I am going to keep going. I am sure I can find somebody they fit. There is an error in the heel section, which doesn't effect the stitch count or anything, so I have given myself permission to leave it. Now the question is: Do I do the second one with the same error?
Baxter is improving daily. He has also discovered that there are squirrels and birds in the yard. He invited them over for breakfast.
He actually asks us to put peanuts on the window sill in the morning to get the squirrels and Jays to come.
I was just wondering how I could have missed such a nice sock pattern, and I figured it out. Your photo is much nicer than the one with the pattern. As for Alberta, I really like your bead choice. My Alberta is looking a little more like a pile of fluff. Yours actually looks like a shawl!
ReplyDeleteLove your beautiful shawl. The beads adds a pop of unexpected colour. Now only if Baxter was well enough to go and speak to the birds and the squirrels outside the window, it would definitely change the game 100 percent.
ReplyDeleteHaha--I'd have to do the same error as I'm OCD/anal like that.
ReplyDeleteSo glad Baxter is getting better, if only they could talk. Our Ginger Boy stray has never uttered a single Meow, or a purr, but is no sleeping inside almost every night. But his eyes!!! He looks so solemn, and tells me everything that way. Enjoy your day knitting , we have rain, leaves falling more and more, fire is lit, coffee poured. Heaven in wintertime is all of that and more. Maybe a whimsical cat to add to the agenda.
ReplyDeleteYour shawl is gorgeous! Not sure if I will make WWKIP day, it will be happening here but the uke club has a gig and it's probably not easy to knit with two hands while simultaneously playing uke with those hands. You go, Baxter......glad to hear you are doing so well that you want company now.
ReplyDeleteKate, your shawl is beautiful. I'm sorry you've had to repeat some rows, but I suspect you are happy you have! Your sock is very pretty too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting about WWKIP; I wouldn't have known about it if I hadn't read your post.
Thanks also for posting to TN&TN's WIP Wednesday!
Beautiful shawl! The beads really add to the design.
ReplyDeleteThat is going to be an incredible shawl. wow.
ReplyDeleteLove the sock pattern. I have printed it out and will have to search for the right wool. Thanks for the reminder about Saturday. Will try and remember to sit out on my porch and knit.
Thanks for linking up with Needlework Tuesday.
The shawl is going to be beautiful. Your knitting ALMOST makes me want to take it up again.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely going to be knitting in public that day, but I don't know if I'll make it to an official event. Thanks for posting about it.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shawl! Love the addition of the beads. I'm still eyeing that one, but I'm not sure if/when I'm going to get to it. It's really lovely, though. Really nice sock, too.
As for Baxter, it's great he's improving. He's probably communicating with the creatures outside, even if it's just telepathically. I'm sure they appreciate his kindness for supplying the food.
love the accent of the beads on your piece it really adds character to that lovely yarn. you do amazing needle skills with your yarn so glad you have linked up with needle and thread to find you
